Swenson, the Yale Endowment Manager, brings his common sense principles of institutional money management to a personal investment level.

Taleb illuminates the differences between smart and lucky in this entertaining read.  The market can make us all look like geniuses or complete idiots.  How much control do we actually have over any outcome, if any?  You will enjoy this book!    

William J. Bernstein
The Intelligent Asset Allocator     

Bernstein, who is a practicing physician, delves into active management and discovers more and more troubling issues that all investors should be aware of.  Diversification matters over managers!  Very easy read!    

 Gary Weiss 
 Wall Street Versus America: The Rampant Greed and Dishonesty That Imperil Your Investments   

 Weiss is a journalist and really digs into the inherent conflicts of Wall Street business practices. Is Wall Street just a wealth transfer mechanism, transferring your wealth to the shareholders and managers of brokerage firms? 

John C. Bogle
The Battle for the Soul of Capitalism

Bogle really goes after manager compensation and mutual fund business practices.  This is a must read for anyone invested in actively managed mutual funds or anyone who questions corporate American manager compensation models.  

William F. Sharpe & Gordon J. Alexander
Investments  

Nobel Laureate, Bill Sharp, lays out his foundations for investments.  This is a handbook for anyone involved in serious money management.
